Firearm Raffle – Official Rules & Terms
Youth Shooting Sports Foundation (YSSF)
All raffles are conducted as a charitable fundraiser benefiting youth shooting sports in Ohio.
1. Eligibility
Participants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age to receive a rifle or shotgun and 21 years of age to receive a handgun.
- Must be legally eligible to own and possess a firearm under all federal, state, and local laws.
- Must comply with all ATF and Ohio firearm transfer requirements.
- Employees, board members, or volunteers of the organization may participate.
2. Ticket Information
- Ticket price and quantity are independent of each raffle. Prices and Quantity are printed on each ticket for each individual raffle.
- Unless otherwise stated on the ticket, the closing date will be when all tickets for that raffle have been sold.
- Tickets are non-refundable and not tax deductible.
3. Drawing
- Drawing date and location will vary per raffle. If raffle tickets were sold online, the drawing will be recorded and posted to the YSSF YouTube Channel.
- Winners will be selected randomly from all eligible entries.
- Winner does not need to be present to win unless otherwise stated.
4. Winner Notification
- Winners will be notified using the contact information provided on the raffle ticket.
- If the winner cannot be contacted within 30 days, the prize will remain the property of YSSF.
5. Firearm Transfer Requirements
- All firearms will be transferred in compliance with federal and Ohio law.
- Firearms must be transferred through a Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer.
- The winner must complete ATF Form 4473 and pass the required NICS background check or, at the discretion of the FFL, present a valid Ohio Concealed Carry License.
- If the winner resides outside the local area, the firearm may be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer of the winner’s choosing.
6. Transfer Fees and Shipping
- If not done by the FFL of the YSSF, Any FFL transfer fees, background check fees, or shipping costs are the responsibility of the winner.
- The organization will coordinate the transfer with the selected FFL dealer.
7. Ineligibility or Background Check Failure
If the winner:
- Fails the background check
- Is prohibited from possessing firearms
- Cannot legally receive the firearm
then the organization reserves the right to:
- Retain possession of the firearm
8. Prize Substitution
- The organization reserves the right to substitute the listed firearm with a firearm of equal or greater value, or provide a cash equivalent or store credit, if the original prize becomes unavailable.
9. Taxes
- All federal, state, and local taxes associated with the prize are the responsibility of the winner.
10. Liability Release
- By participating in the raffle, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Youth Shooting Sports Foundation, its officers, directors, volunteers, and affiliates from any liability related to participation in the raffle or use of any prize awarded.
11. Publicity
- By accepting a prize, the winner agrees that their name and photograph may be used for promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law.
12. Compliance With Laws
- This raffle is conducted in accordance with Ohio charitable gaming laws (Ohio Revised Code Chapter 2915) and all applicable federal and state firearm regulations.
